Major new services for Leaseweb customers

In the Netherlands, gift giving occurs on Saint Nicholas’ Eve (5th December), with the arrival of Sinterklaas. This is the time when most children in the Netherlands receive their presents. At this time of the year, Leaseweb is also planning to roll out some ‘presents’ for its customers that have been frequently requested.

At Leaseweb the end of the year is always a busy time for us – development teams rushing to finish up some big projects, as well as preparing some exciting new products and services for customer in the coming year. We try to allow as many employees as possible in our development department a little time off for some well-deserved vacation time with their families. However, we always have at least a “skeleton crew” of developers working to finish the many projects underway at Leaseweb always aiming to provide the very best features and service for Leaseweb customers. While many of our engineers and programmers are working at a slightly more relaxed pace than usual, our Development department is now completing some major new projects, including two which offer many benefits to Leaseweb customers.

Currently, we are deploying a major new version of the Leaseweb Customer Portal. This is the portal customers use to access their services at Leaseweb including: managing their DNS, activate their reboot port, view their monthly bandwidth, and check the financial details of their Leaseweb account, such as payment history. The old version of our Customer Portal is very familiar to many thousands of Leaseweb customers over the years, but it was time for a major update, which allows us to give the Customer Portal a super new interface.

The new Customer Portal interface will allow Leaseweb developers to add customer oriented features much faster. Very rapidly we will be adding new functionality to the Customer Portal to meet the requests of many customers for increased control and options when managing their servers, domains, and services through the Customer Portal.

Another result of the hard work of our Development team is the deployment shortly of a fully automated delivery system for our cloud products. For Leaseweb customers this will mean delivery of Leaseweb cloud services within minutes after a customer payment has cleared. In addition, we plan to add a reboot port function for each cloud instance, directly from the Customer Portal. The bottom line for customers is clear – faster delivery and much more control.

Leaseweb is extremely focused on meeting customer needs. We are implementing these new features and services using a new development process called SCRUM. This allows for much more flexibility, with faster product development. This means we will be able to deliver new features more often, leading to better products, targeted to meeting Leaseweb customer requirements, resulting in more satisfied customers.

Leaseweb is interested in obtaining customer feedback, so we can continue to improve our offerings, so we can continue to provide you with the very best server products and services. What else can we do for you? Let us know what features of products you would like to see and post a comment!

It’ll be a huge feature to be able to check the tickets in SSC.
Thank you for your care and service.

You might want to make it clear that the new SSC is not yet available. The post is a bit confusing as it more or less suggests these features are already being rolled out (which does not seem the case).

@Badreddin: Thanks! Ticket status and overview is in our backlog, but not planned yet.

@Aron: I agree, we could have been more clear on this. We are planning the maintenance right now – and expect to have the new version online before the weekend.

    Thanks for your feedback!

It would be really great to be able to pay via Moneybookers as Paypal can be really tedious sometimes, especially when they decide to block your access without any reason.

we need API to link it to several support scripts like (WHMCS, HostBill).
so the server clients can reboot their server without our interfer.

@Burc Sade: Support for Moneybookers is currently not planned. We do intend to do some work on the payment processing module, and we will keep your suggestion in mind.

@Badreddin: API support is top priority for us as well. We are working on API support for a large part of the SSC functionality – as well as some new features that you will be able to script against.

We are already noticing the new SCRUM development approach gives us much more flexibility, and we aim to release a new SSC version quite soon now. Watch this space!

I pay by bank transferring every so often a lump sum of money to cover around six months billings. My account is therefore usually significantly in credit. Is there any way to find the balance of my account without downloading and totalling up all my invoices and payments since I joined Leaseweb several years ago.

    Hi all,

Thanks for all of your comments! We’re always happy with feedback – good or bad. Most of the features you requested have been placed on our backlog.
A few features have, since this post, already been implemented (or were already there):
    – Reinstalls via the SSC
    – Bandwidth graphs and notifications
    – More API features and functionality (if you want to use the API, please contact your account manager for more infomation and documentation)
    – Reverse DNS configuration

In the coming weeks we will be adding more Paypal-related features, such as the option to specify a custom amount (if you want to do lump Paypal payments).

Again, thanks for all your feedback!
