What is the new deployment method?
With this new deployment model, firewalls and load balancers are equipped with both public and private network capabilities, ensuring seamless communication and enhanced security. The private network facilitates efficient and secure traffic routing between servers and the firewall/load balancer, while the devices themselves translate public IPs to private IPs, bolstering defence against potential threats.
Advantages of new deployment method in shared rack infrastructure
1. Scalability and Flexibility
The shared rack model allows for more flexible placement of dedicated servers within the data center, optimizing network layout while ensuring uninterrupted connectivity to firewalls and load balancers. In addition to its flexibility in server placement, the shared rack model also enhances scalability by allowing for easy expansion or consolidation of server resources as per changing demands within the data center environment.
2. Streamlined Management
Standardizing deployment in shared racks simplifies management and maintenance tasks, allowing administrators to focus on the shared rack environment without device-specific complexities.
Consolidating devices in shared racks optimizes resource utilization, resulting in a more economical infrastructure deployment strategy. For example, a switch will no longer be necessary, and the servers can be in any shared rack in the data center without needing to move them around.
