As Leaseweb celebrates its 25th anniversary, I’d like to reflect on how the company has evolved and how it will continue to grow.
From its beginning in 1997, Leaseweb has provided technical expertise to assist businesses of all sizes, from small startups to multinational corporations, to achieve their business goals. Leaseweb itself has grown from a small team building and hosting websites to a global cloud hosting service with over 500 colleagues representing 50+ different nationalities operating from seven offices and nine countries across the globe. In our company, the sun never sets.
Throughout the years, I had to adjust to various challenges in the (global) HR department. However, my team and I were successful in making our HR department a renowned and recognized one. We now have a strong and dependable HR department that recruits the appropriate people, handles the necessary paperwork, is transparent and reliable, and, most importantly, fosters an atmosphere where workers aspire to serve our clients better today than they did yesterday.
Recent years have been especially crucial, as all of our team members were faced with numerous challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has upended how organizations work and operate. The increased volume of employees working from home using conferencing and collaboration services are stressing back-end support services and increasing traffic on networks that connect users to these services. Our engineering team had to meet the demands that were shown.
Today, we work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and offer dependable services around the world by sharing our decades of technological expertise and experience to create the Internet as a Service (IaaS) in the cloud.
I’m incredibly proud of what Leaseweb has accomplished, and I’m excited to see it continue to expand with the same entrepreneurial spirit, fundamental values, and customer focus that has characterized our company for the last 25 years.
Leaseweb has invested in automation and mass server and data center management to scale up its operations to not only reflect, but also anticipate its customers’ needs, allowing it to develop long-standing relationships with its customers worldwide. Over the last quarter of a century, we have built a full-fledged development organization that provides ongoing optimization of products and services. This allows us to offer industry-leading features at a price-to-performance ratio accessible to the broadest possible market.
Our team platform now runs millions of websites across the world and hosts business-critical applications and IT systems for some of the world’s most well-known organizations, including financial back-end systems, e-commerce solutions, and gaming companies. Every day, Leaseweb’s servers and worldwide network provide the computational power and global reach that enables businesses to conduct anything from office automation and HR payrolls to streaming live concerts and playing massively multiplayer online games.
I’m filled with pride today as I think of the advances in the realm of technology and company culture about how far Leaseweb has come. I’m pleased with the team’s efforts to create this company and achieve its position as a market leader. I’m proud of the company’s ideals and our dedication to assisting clients in achieving their objectives. And I’m most proud of the fact that we accomplished this as a team.
