The Power of 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processors

2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processor-powered servers are now available for Leaseweb customers around the globe – and it’s a big deal. We are one of the very first Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers in the world to deliver access to these high-performance processors. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to help customers take full advantage of the very best in hybrid cloud technology and minimize the impact of downtime.

The 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processors currently hold more than 140 world records across major industry benchmarks and offer up to a 2x generational performance increase1. They also deliver the most I/O and memory bandwidth in their class2 and, as such, are ideal for customers that are seeking enhanced performance for their increasingly complex workloads. The new processors are ideal for every critical client use case – including enterprise applications, virtualized and cloud computing environments, software-defined infrastructure, HPC, and data analysis applications.

As our newest and most potent piece of hosted infrastructure, the 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processors also play a crucial role in meeting customer demands for scalable, efficient, and easy-to-operate hybrid cloud infrastructure — both now and in years to come. This is important as research from Leaseweb USA has shown 61.4% of companies believe that hybrid or private cloud will be the infrastructure of their company’s future. It also revealed that 75.9% of respondents prioritize scalability, speed, ease of use, and cost as top factors when choosing their IaaS hosting solution. These attributes are all given a major boost by our new fleet of servers.

Joining Leaseweb’s portfolio of hosted infrastructure, the 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processor-powered servers provide leadership in security, performance, architecture, and agility. They support up to 64 “Zen 2” cores and 128 threads per socket, while also supporting PCIe® 4, which delivers double the I/O performance when compared to PCIe 3.0. Behind the scenes, our customers benefit from servers that have fast, easy connections to GPU accelerators and NVMe drives.

Our 2nd Gen AMD EPYC™ Processor servers are housed in state-of-the-art, ISO-certified data centers at strategic locations across the globe – giving our customers easy access to Europe, the US, and Asia Pacific. They are available via our scalable business model, which always aims to deliver the highest-performing technology at the best price point.
