Leaseweb USA is getting charged up for this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), in San Francisco, March 18-22.
Every year, the event brings together the biggest names in game development – from creative experts to talented programmers and business leaders. We’re looking forward to exchanging ideas and shaping the future of the Gaming industry with the other 30,000 attendees expected to be there.
Join our backend AMA
As part of this exchange, Leaseweb is hosting an Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) panel discussion on challenges in architecting, engineering and scaling game backends. The developer community can post questions here or post them on Twitter with the hashtag #GDCBackendAMA. Veteran developers will then take the stage on March 22nd at 1:30 pm (Room #2000) and answer the questions thrown at them from the community.
Our selected experts include Douglas Manton (Boss Fight, Zynga, Bonfire) and Twain Martin (Certain Affinity, Obsidian, Tencent, Trion Worlds) who combine decades of experience in the trenches of building massive online games in many different genres. Their track record extends from asynchronous, casual & mid-core games all the way to the major titles Call of Duty, Halo, and World of Warcraft. And by the way, both Boss Fight and Certain Affinity are currently hiring – so go check out their open positions!
Looking at the technology behind the scenes
While many of the attendees will be focused on the launch of their next game, or learning about new tools and techniques, there is a whole world of technology behind the scenes that support the all-encompassing experience a gamer gets when entrenched in their favorite title. That’s where Leaseweb comes in.
We’re excited to be an exhibitor and to bring our global hosting solutions to showcase how we combine high performance, low latency, and maximum uptime, so players can experience online games on a truly global level.
We also have heard that this year, at GDC, there are some emerging game platforms looking to make a big splash. We hope they become wildly popular. We’re here to offer support and scalability when demand becomes overwhelming and we’re at the show to discuss planning for and maintaining the extra capacity with anyone interested.
We’ll have demonstrations on how to scale with the Leaseweb cloud platform and deploy on demand, only paying for what you actually need. As well as tailoring possibilities for developers and publishers to design an architecture that’s perfectly suited for each specific workload.
There will also be some fun beyond the excitement of Leaseweb’s offerings. We’ll have surprises and giveaways at Booth #S735, so stop by!
