Customer Portal Receives a Makeover: Hosting and Reseller Hosting now even more convenient

The Leaseweb Customer Portal is the place where customers can receive up-to-date information on their Leaseweb products and reseller hosting. Our programming department has been hard at work adding improvements and additional functionality to make the Customer Portal even more convenient and useful for Leaseweb resellers and customers. We have added specific features to give Leaseweb resellers additional management controls to more effectively service their customers

Depending on the type of server you have with Leaseweb, various new features will now be available. Customers with dedicated express servers will receive some long requested improvements. Express servers will now have a “rescue mode.” Utilizing rescue mode, Leaseweb customers can log into their server even when it will not boot, or is inaccessible, to make emergency repairs. This includes mounting a hard drive; adjusting a network stack or even changing an administrative (root) password that has been lost.

An additional very desirable new facility will allow a server owner to reload the operating system (OS) or even change the operating system to a different version. Leaseweb will maintain a range of Linux distros, BSD and Windows OS to do a complete reload. If you have a Linux server and decide you want to change to Windows from Linux — no problem. There will just be a small additional monthly fee added for the Microsoft Windows licensing charge. Network port access may be enabled or disabled remotely.

All customers will benefit from the ability to set an alarm for each Leaseweb server to alert you when a bandwidth threshold is exceeded. You may customize the alert level to any particular amount of bandwidth. When that pre-set bandwidth limit is reached you will automatically receive an email to your primary email address notifying you, so you can take the appropriate action. The Customer Portal will now be able to receive messages from key Leaseweb departments directly in the Customer Portal.

Resellers will benefit from the ability to directly control network access for provisioning and de-provisioning, as well as the ability to prepare servers for end-users by pre-loading their OS of choice. The rescue mode will allow resellers to immediately make many adjustments themselves 24/7, without additional assistance from the technical staff at Leaseweb.

Other improvements include better graphing of bandwidth speed and data usage. All features are now accessible through an API. Resellers may contact their account manager to receive API access. These features are designed to empower Leaseweb customers to better manage their own servers to maximize usage efficiency and control. Our programming team is diligently at work developing further enhancements to provide Leaseweb customers with the very best Customer Portal available today.

    The rescue mode for dedicated express servers sounds nice. Sadly I’m unable to locate this feature. Where should I look?

    Hello Badreddin,

    Thank you for the feedback! I have just checked our Sales Chat from our Self-Service Center and it works like it should. Our chat is available from 9:00 until 17:00 (CET) so if you tried it last night, there were no operators available. If you have more questions or comments, please let me know!

    Kind regards,

    Marc Burkels

    @Nils Breunese

    Rescue mode is not available for all customers yet, we are working on this and this feature will be made available in the course of this week!

    Kind regards,

    Marc Burkels
